just a word of caution

a Family here was invaded in their home by brown bats (flying rats)

it bit a teenager and the unvacinated house cat killed it, which of coarse, all had to be tested

The bat was positive..the family is now receving rabies vacinations and the indoor pets are under quarenteen for 5 months ( were not vaccinated) and if no sign/symptoms will be vacinated

one horse last year came down with rabies and of coarse was destroyed

"VACCINATE" tis the season

it is well worth it

as ever

I feel compelled to correct the spelling, it's "rabies". I thought at first glance you had posted about "rabbis", which was intriguing.
Anyway, a timely warning. A friend's 9 yr old daughter had to be treated for rabies a few years ago because she touched a sick bat. The bat ended up flying away so there was no way of knowing whether it was rabid or not. When the mom was questioning the need for the shots, she was told it was a small chance the child contracted rabies, yet if she did it was 100% fatal. Didn't need any more convincing than that.
