I'm just curious why some farriers (and hoof trimmers) here want to be "invisible"? Hiding your addictions?
Looks like there's a bunch of you: Jaye, Rick, Reillyshoes, Smitty88, Caballus, Tom Ride and Drive, Phil,.. And if I'm wrong about any of you being "invisible"--my apologies..and I'm sure you will correct me if I'm wrong.

Those who have no drama in their lives; try to create it.
My opinion.

Do you mean "hidden" in their online status?
I typically choose the hidden because I tend to have at least four open browsers at any given time- flick between what I'm working on, emailing, a conversation I'm having on a forum, something I'm reading...etc. And usually a game of spider solitare to boot. So I choose the hidden that it isn't thought I'm staring at a particular page for hours. Sometimes, but not usually.
I wish Jaye would post more of his quiz like threads. I'm still trying to figure out this one.

Oh and yeah, I'm addicted. Forums and cookie dough. and whoopie pies. and fruit pie as well.

For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, there's a feature in "user CP" (in the Edit options) that you can click on to make yourself appear "invisible". When you use that feature your screen name does not appear on the list of current users online so it doesn't appear you're here visiting this site. I guess I'm curious why folks would use that feature. Cheryl, you mention you use that feature because you don't want anyone to think you're staring at one page for hours while you go off and do other things--and my thought is--why would it matter to anyone?

You wouldn't think it odd? If I logged in first thing in the morning and left the browser open all day, what would your impression of me be?
I suppose it's arrogance on my part to assume that someone would even notice, but I think it would blip on someone's radar somewhere.
If I were here to participate I might feel differently. I'm just here to spectate and learn. (sometimes I just can't help myself and feel compelled to post.)

I'm just curious why some farriers (and hoof trimmers) here want to be "invisible"? Because I didn't know I was. But what difference does it make to you?
And saying as you're expressing curiosity about folks, I'll do likewise:
Why are you posting anonymously?
And why in this topic area?

So now I have this image of an insomniac farrier being a "farrier fairy"- owners show up at the barn in the morning to have the horses freshly shod and ready to go. :D
Two good things about horses:
1- they don't sleep much
2- they see a lot better in the dark than we do.
Lots of fun to take the horse out in the middle of the night during the summer to a safe (no holes) field for a good ride when the rider can't see much beyond the outline of the ears. Even better to take them out midwinter when the full moon gives off enough light to see clearly- when you arrive back at the barn the stirrups are covered in rime ice from the horse's breath.

Sounds like Cyber Stalking to me:p
Just currous as to why you would even consider looking into something like this and post individuals names accordingly:rolleyes:
Think I will go invisable into Cyberspace as well:D
Nothing better to do, then, maybe not, Oh well
