Has anyone used these rasps? Are they worth the extra cost?

I used the sample I got at the Summit this year. It was much less than average and for the price, I can just about buy two good rasps from another company.

I don't know if it was a diffrent batch, from the ones Rick got at summit, but I couldn't seem to kill the one they gave me at convention.

Just finished a complete box from them. Normally I use Save Edge but our supplier here has problems keeping them on stock. At first I thought what the hell it donīt "bite" at all! They are definately not as aggressive as Save Edge but they do last longer. With Save Edge I averaged roughly 50 head per rasp, with the Vallorbe I averaged roughly 80-90 head. But it did take some getting used to because they are not as wide as Save Edge. Just started a new box from Save Edge this week again and will say that I will be switching back to Vallorbe. Did not even make the 40 head mark with the first one. Called my supplier and ordered Vallorbe again and will be sending the Save Edges back.

I also tried a Vallorbe that was given to me at the Summit, in my estimation, it was not very good, I don't think I finished one horse with it. I have been told that the later versions are better.
Has anyone tried the"Outlaw" from Diamond? If so ,what is the feed back?

I tried the Vallorbe Rasp my mentor got from the summit, I volunteered to be the guini pig.* It SUCKED big time.* It was not straight. .* true . .* or level.* Meaning it was as crooked as a dogs hind leg, any way you looked at it.* On top of that it was not sharp in the least.* The only way I could believe one get more horses out of that rasp is because the person did not know it was dull, due to the unsharpness of the rasp to begin with.
