Hello, I am looking for some horseshoes for my draft horse. She is 18/2 and about a ton (I am guessing on the lbs). I have an Amish guy that said that he will put shoes on for me, but he said that I need to get the shoes. Can anyone help me to find the right size and where to get them at?
Thanks,
Blake

Check out the "marketplace" from the main menue. There's lots of suppliers. You may have some trouble picking out the right size though. Usually farriers buy or make the shoes they need but there are no absolutes I guess.

Yeah, I knew that the furrier usually buys or makes the shoes, but all the furriers around here do not want to do anything with a draft horse. Although, she stands well and have no trouble holding her feet up ten minutes at a time if not more. I am just wondering if this Amish boy knows what he is doing.

Mike- thanks for the idea to look on the “marketplace”. I did find the shoes that I needed, so how does one go about sizing up a “horse” or in this case what I like to call draft horses, “hosses” :p . Maybe I just need to do a trial and error in this situation. If anyone can tell me how to do so, I would be more then happy to receive any suggestions.

If you don't know the size you can put a piece of paper or cardboard on the ground have the horse step on it and trace the hoof with a marker. Then take the paper with you and size the shoe to the trace. Good Luck! Gary
