Here in the UK many vets and farriers follow the advice of Robert Eustace and the Laminitic Clinic in Wiltshire. It certainly helped my cob get throught it. Any comment? :)

If it works, thats great!. But one should always have a back-up plan or two(or three) incase it(or the others) doesn't/isn't working.
