I want to extend my congratulations to Tim Mcphee of Massachussetts for coming in 2nd in the mail in contest this year.
Tim is an exceptionalo young man with forging talent coming out his ears.
Tim has been to our annual forging contest here in Vermont (October 26th and 27th-Fri. and Sat. call for information 802-888-7505) and I can honestly say you would have to go a long way to meet a more personable and talented farrier.
Congratulations Tim, from all of us here at the "Vermont Farriers Association"

Good job Tim! Way to go!
If there is one farrier of whose skills I am envious of it is is Tim. Good guy, hard worker and a "natural" in the forge (not to take away from his efforts, but someone you watch and say "wow, he makes it look easy). Not only will he be one of the guys we read about for years, but he is a farrier who truly has it all.
And, I might add, another by product of Epping, NH (my home town)- the center of the universe!

Tim is a hard worker, passionate about the trade and a great guy. Tim and a bunch of other guys will be competeing again, I think it is located in Montana. Tim's uncle (Bill Mcphee) did a great job teaching this young man about the trade. Next time I see Tim I will pass on all the great compliments he is getting on Horseshoes.com. Maybe we can get him as a regular on here.
I have a pair of concaves he made a few years ago. He wanted me to use them on a horse but I hung on to them. One day I might have him sign them and auction them off on E-bay. :D

Pat
How did we do with your shoe?
I still think this is the way I'll put them on.

Jeff
I did not enter a shoe in the contest, but sent in a shoe for exhibit.
