If you don't mind, do you have any pictures of the outside?

Thanks,

There was a time in day when I thought the only function of the sole was for protection.
Dont ask me how I found out it wasn't :) .

Hey Andrew, I will share how I found out the sole is supportive and not just protective also that the hoof capsule is supportive. About 5 years ago I did a big TB gelding size 3 feet that constantly lost shoes with numerous rings and distortion in the feet, vet owner and myself thought the horse had laminitis, however he was never sore and never over weight. Started leaveing the sole in the toe alone and also left the thickness of the wall alone. After a year the new growth was straight and no longer lost shoes. Couple of times I applied superfast to the dorsal wall, I think it helped and might be along the same thinking as the Nolan Plate. Anyways he ended up with size 4 feet (4 KH SSP), no more rings and decent looking feet. The only problem this horse had was he kept looseing shoes and the owner was frustrated. Even in a bigger shoes and fitting him close to parimeter fit I could map out his foot and end up with good balance, good H/P angle and good breakover. I also hot fit him, which I think helped a lot. Pretty difficult to do the first time, this TB had never seen smoke before.
