I have young horse that will be 6 this spring. Over the past couple years the horse has not been sound off and on. His left front seems to be the problem. Things seem to have gotten worse and he hasn't been sound for about the last 4 months. This horse had what I would call under run heels. His breakover point was too far forward. We've been working on bring the breakover point back, by trimming his heels down more. His feet look a lot better (less distance in front of the widest part of the foot to the breakover point compared to widest part to the buttress) but the lameness seems to have gotten worse. If you look at the left heel vs the right, the left is a little more constricted. Took the horse to the vet this weekend and he blocked the back side of the foot. The horse wasn't much better. The vet said it could be navicular that has progressed into the joint. He has recommended us to a horse vet that we are taking to this week. I know this information is kind of vague, but any thoughts?
Thanks, Chad
