My farrier normally attends the Bluegrass Laminitis Symposium every year. I went to Nanric.com to sign up and noticed that this year Dr. Redden is doing a Podiatry Series in July and he has been teaching some podiatry classes. Has any vet or farrier attended his Equine Podiatry 101 class? If so, any feedback?

Well I have not attened myself but there is a vet and farrier around here who has been more than once! Can you say banana shoe? Thats the big push there. I think it has its place though because Ive seen it work. Only thing is they want you to go with a vet to make a vet/farrier team. Only one farrier and vet has gone in my area and guess who gets all the Banana shoe jobs, at about $300 a pop not including x-rays! Anyway I may go this summer as there is a vet that says she wants to go, now if I can talk someone into paying the fee for me...$2500 for 5 days maybe? Its alot!!

You may want to check out serenityequine.com. Dr. Floyd is giving similar clinics at a lower cost.

I don't know where the $2,500 comes from but Redden has a educational course somewhere in June or so. The price is $400.00. It's on his website www.nanric.com
