I know someone looking at a large pony that has one hind club foot...I would really appreciate any guidance or advice on what they need to be aware of.
Thank you! :D

First don't buy problems! If they do hopefully they have an experienced farrier that will be able to help the horse out. Good Luck! Gary

The odds are that unless the hind foot has become clubbed due to injury, that the diagonal front foot is also clubbed(or stacked heeled, etc). It may not be showing up because the farrier has dressed the dorsal wall.
If your friend is bound and determined to buy this horse, then s/he needs to have a pre-purchase exam, with radiographs of all four feet, before she commits to any purchase. She should also have a qualified farrier look the horse over and give his/her POV and opinion(s).
One caveat: do not use the pony owner's vet or farrier for the PPE.
