This Forum doesn't exist to promote or publicize BUA sites or their mantra. This thread will be deleted in a few hours.

Cyber Farrier-it really was a JOKE-if you look at the links it is about Human Barefooters and the comments are identical to all the barefoot 'promotions'
It isn't intended to promote BUA but to add a little humor to a sometimes somewhat touchy topic.
Seriously-meant as some humor.

I have enough to do just maintaining the RC and riding herd on the Forums. I can't follow every link in the posts, and must assume they are are about what the title of the post expresses. Now I know it's a humerous post, but you can well understand why I didn't before. OK, this thread has a reprieve. It will stay.

Thanks Cyber Farrier-I should have made the humor element more clear in my original post-that wasn't very courteous to you in your position as moderator.
It just made me laugh pretty darn hard so I thought the boys club could also have a good round at 'our' expense.
Heck...I am blonde AND an attorney and the jokes around those qualities are enough to fill all of cyberspace-so I couldn't help sharing so good make-fun-of-BUA humor thrown in.
Literally there are articles on the evils of shoes, how to condition, what about asphalt, what about glass, how to improve flat feet...photos of good feet, locations that are barefoot friendly and why is there prejudice against barefoot.
Sound familiar? The only kicker is this entire 'group' is talking about barefoot humans.
Of course the issue and going barefoot in public restrooms seems to be more of a concern for human barefooters than our equine partners...then again according to THAT article urine is sterile.
Heck maybe all the discussions have just twisted *my* sense of humor a bit.

Hey guys, if this is such a sore issue, then why even have a forum titled "Farriers Helping Horse Owners Interested in Maintaining Their Horses Barefoot Only." It seems it is here just for farriers to bash horse owners interested in trying barefoot. Maybe the last word "Only" needs to be taken out. Then it won't feel so negative to the diehard shoers. As it is right now, it is like a trap where people come in, ask questions they may not realize farriers take offence to, and then they get pounced on for it. I have taken a few pouncings myself, even though I am not a diehard barefooter, I have only been trying it about a month. And I am still on the fence about wether it will even work for me!

I beg to differ on that observation and comment Trailhorse. There are many threads started with questions asked and answered regarding maiantaining a barefoot horse.
Threads asking about hoof balance, alignment, long toes, underrun heels, bars, frogs soles, thrush, whiteline, barefot ponies, mules, donkeys etc.
The threads that get a lot of banter are the threads where the barefooters take the farrriers to task for offering something the barefoot mantra cannot.
Some things just cannot be helped by the barefoot protocol - regardless of what is written in the BUA texts!

Therea re those that come the barefoor interest forum to ask questions and seek answers to better themselves and further their knowledge. These people are quickily credited as learners. They ask questions ans seek humble information. They often times read and ask questions for better understanding. Using information processed to further their knowledge base.
Then there are thoe that blaze in ask a question but already know the answer in their mind before hand. They just wanted to ask it for... sakes cause I guess. They refuse to engage in conversation where information is exchanged and questions asked. Instead they have a limited opening into their mind and refuse to digest and synthesize the information offered. Instead they argue. These persons are quickily marked and susequently dealt with as they lead themselves to their own demis.
We as farriers are very discerning persons and have seen a lot in thei world. Our genre of people is very deep and labeled very descriptively. Therefore in our world we are able to discern between the likes of horse people rather easily.

This sure sound like what the thread is labeled: Farriers Helping Horse Owners Interested In Maintaining Their Horses Barefoot Only. Where are the mods?

Oh good grief-the thread had passed on virtually unnoticed and the 'mod' did see it and decided to let it stay.
Did you click on even ONE of the thinks? Did you read the thread? Where I said it was SUPPOSED to be HUMOR?
It was about HUMAN barefooters for heaven's sake...in the midst of all the nasty comments and back and forth on so many threads...it was an attempt to lighten the weight of the forum.
Good Grief.

Remember who you are dealing with in your response. Obviously some do not fully understand the awesome power and ability to discern right from wrong that resides with our omniscient yet benevolent and ever present dictator(ooops), I meant, leader. "Heavy lies the crown". "Badges? He don't need no stinkin' badges....."
Did you click on even ONE of the thinks? Did you read the thread? Where I said it was SUPPOSED to be HUMOR?
You and I both know that this is a rhetorical question. Unfortunately, the concept appears too complex for some others.
It was about HUMAN barefooters for heaven's sake...in the midst of all the nasty comments and back and forth on so many threads...it was an attempt to lighten the weight of the forum.
I, at least, appreciated the effort. It was sorely(Ouch! is that because my brain is barefoot? No, wait. How can my brain be bareFOOT?)needed.
Good Grief.
"Heavens to Mergatroid" ! I like that better than 'good grief", though for the life of me I cannot remember which cartoon character from my long ago childhood used to utter that phrase. :D

While I believe that you meant "Links" not "thinks", the answer to your question as posed is, demonstrably, "NO"! :)

Mr Burten-you have now been added to a very elite group responsible for editing my posts for me. :D
Typos is my middle name-the number which seems to increase with the emotion behind the typing. :p
Good Grief Charlie Brown, by the way should sound familiar on the other topic...well, unless one truly IS a member of the OLD farriers that use big words club...in which case you eldest child should be able to tell you all about Charlie Brown and Lucy
Though I must admit I am now growing quite fond of Heavens to Mergatroid...though I fear the potential for emotional typos is VAST compared to the simple Good Grief. :D
And should Mr Stovall drop by this thread...does Virginia still have style?

I did click on the links and it was kind of funny. ;) It seems like some farriers here waste so much time bashing the "BUA" when they should have something better to do with their time. Shoe or trim some more horses? Or for that matter go ride one! :D ;)

Phew! We got one it was kinda funny!
Heavens to Mergatroid this IS a tough crowd!
It was actually MUCH easier being a fullblown BUA member on this board  than trying to bridge the gap with a little humor.
Now with that you 'gentleman' carry on doing what you do best and I shall go back to practicing my marching. :p

I just read the links, it is very funny. Back a few years ago I kept asking barefoot only people why don't they do there jobs barefoot. Well now they have a web site that can teach them how. Would be interesting to see if they are willing to do there jobs barefoot. Whats good for the horse is good for the trimmer. Or should we say practice what you preach.

Jan,
I was just about to ask if that phrase was not also attributable to Snaggle****.
In full, was is not, "Exit, stage left, running all the way"?
And, didn't Snaggle**** have a rather unique vocal pattern and inflection?
And, let us not overlook the exclamation of one Mr. Perry White, Editor in Chief of the "Daily Planet". To wit: "Great Cesaer's Ghost!"
"Lois, get Kent and go check out that story. And take that Idi-o-t Olsen with you..."
"Look, up in the sky. Its a Bird, its a Plane, (wiping the do do from the eye). its a bird."

Hang in there. Your feet will toughen and as Spring turns to Summer, your toes will not get as cold.
Belhaven,
What do you call a lawyer who is not nearly as sharp as the adverage blonde?
