Baron, I hope this is the right place to post this.

Vermont's Farrier Association held their 1rst clinic <for members>
It was held at the Eddy Farm in Middlebury, Vermont in their indoor arena.
Rick Banker CJF from Pauls Smith, N.Y. was the clinician.7 rigs were backed up and fires lit as everyone was forging away making shoes.
Horses were trimmed by anyone willing to pick up a foot, and Rick walked around and made suggestions and welcomed critisims.
AFA certification was one of the many topics covered and up to date rules and changes were demonstrated by Rick.

Future clinics are in the making and will be open to Farriers and the public.

I want to suggest anyone who has the opportunity to watch Rick Banker work, take the time to watch him.
He has a calmness about him and a flow when he works that captures your attention.
He is truly a great craftsman and farrier.

We invite other Farriers in N.H. N.Y. and of course Vermont to seek out a member and join.

Just like Baron has presented an opportunity to learn and advance with this site, it is our intention to present clinicians and clinics where everyone walks away with a learning experience.

2 new clinics are coming up presented by Vermont Farriers Association.
One in August and Eagle Eye Contest in Oct. or Sept.

contact: Bruce Matthews at vthorseshoe@aol.com for info.

With so much about licensing farriers in the news today, the VtFA wants to present informative clinicians and opportunities to improve our skills, more than ever. The Association was formed so farriers in the northern parts of New England could attend events without traveling the miles to other states.

We are on a good swing and with the help from great sponsors like Meaders and St Croix to name a few, we will continue to grow.
