I live in OK. Tulsa area. There are lots of farriers here. They come and go pretty frequently. I'm always hearing of new ones.

They charge anywhere from $60 to $80 dollars for regular shoeing.

There is a very good farriers college in Sperry OK. You could maybe contact them.

Oklahoma Farriers collage has been closed since Bud Beaston's death a few years ago.

I spend years in OK. Lot of horses around a lot of them reiners. If you're looking to shoe high end horses make sure you end up close to Marrietta. Within a 3 hour radius you'll find a few of the best QH barns around.

Have fun and can you shoe in a 100 degree heat with high humidity? Then OK is the place for you!

Having lived in Texoma I can safely tell you all the shifts run together into what I like to call "super 8's". You will get to know them as 10-16 hour days.

I first started going into that area and ended up working late in some barns because it was cooler. Then I realized that if I did not drive out of the driveway that they would keep bringing horses. I thought it was cool to make as much in a day as I had been making in a week, then my body started to go on strike.

Be careful and have fun.
