This past weekend Feb. 4 & 5 was the Chris Gregory Clinic at John Blombach's place in Westminster Mass. SNEFA's mid winter clinic.
I would just like to pass on that it was an excellent hands on clinic, shoeing, trimming, handmade, anatomy and conformation.
John and his wife are excellent hosts and provided all the things needed to do a great clinic and keep it moveing and fun. Chris is a very talented teacher, I highly recommend that if anyone has a chance to go to one of his clinics it is worth every dime.
I took alot of pictures, every one participated and every horse was shod with hand mades. I even made a couple of shoes one front and one hind, the front was even used, hope the horse is okay :).
Will share the pictures as soon as I can.
Had a great time and learned a lot.
More to come.

Chris built this straight bar for one of the horses, problems with foot and frog not to healthy. Decided on straight bar, nice to be able to pick where you want the clip and nailing. Added impression material in back of shoe and then poured in Equipak for support.

Hind Shoe with lateral support that I made. Project that Chris wanted us to make. Bumped 1" of stock on the lateral heel and then made the shoe. This is the one I made. We did this on one of the horses that needed lateral support, looked really nice.

Great clinic, lots of good info on forging and hoof prep/balance, Chris is an excellent clinician. Don't hesitate to go if he's in your area.
Way to go on shoe #1 Phil K., don't wait too long to buy some of that barstock !

Thank you for your help Mike, I don't think I would have done it without you. Helps a lot when you have good people like yourself around.
This might become as addicting as getting on the Internet. I am definately going out and buying a bunch of barstock. :)

Phil,
Very nice shoeing indeed. All the work performed at the clinic was done to the highest of standards. Frank (my client with the very long trailer) called today to say how nice the horses are doing with their new shoes and how impressed he was with everyone's superior knowledge and ability.
Thanks to Chris Gregory, you and the others for a job well done. Also a personal thank you to yourself and the other participants for helping clean up after the clinic was over. Thank you! :)

Phil: Those shoes came out really nice! the creased shoe looks like a keg shoe!
