Hi all, can I just say a big thank you for the info contained in this site, I have spent 2 days looking for info on my mares vertical crack and found nothing of use, when I came accross this forum I didn't even need to post as all the answers and advice I needed was there in previous posts, so informative.
I would like to ask just one thing,
I keep finding a product range called Keratex which appears to be the kina thing I'm looking for, but does anyone know which one is best? I was thinking of going for the hardener as my little welsh B has a fine split (not deep according to farrier) all the way up her hoof but not into the soft part at the top, she is also unshod on the back.(so would help both) My farrier has told me that a supplement will only promote growth and not help it heal and that there are no decent products to apply to the hoof that will help. Yet I keep seeing wonder photos in publications and on this board where these products seem to have worked. He has now rasped a small horizontal line above it (very slight ) Any advice on a product. She is trimmed and shod every 6 weeks. P.S I am in the UK.
many thanks to all that reply in advance. :)
