Ok, so being new on here I have posted this thread in 2 other places, obviously the wrong ones. I am wondering about the bulbs on both front feet of my 5yo arab cross, they are what seems to be peeling. Deep, thick peels of the bulb area are coming off. Normal for a pasture horse?. It is wet alot in the pasture, and also in this area! Please help!!! Thanks!

Can you post a picture? It may just be excess frog material. If it is sensitive or bleeds, have your vet check it out.

Our horse gets this sometimes...It's similar to the peeling skin around the human finger nail. We haven't been seeing as much of it lately and I don't know why...

Lack of biotin maybe?
I have peeling nails I would say it is the same thing.
I have one mare that did it after soaking her feet and booting her.
Excess moisture may be to blame too.
