Moving North

My career in the Army is coming to an end, and it looks like we're headed North. I've been shoeing part-time for about six years and am looking to move home to Michigan to go full time.

However, I was also considering Western New York State but I know next to nothing about the horse demographics in that area.

Was hoping someone could fill me in on Farrier needs / opportunities in that area.
