The story ...
I've been doing this horse for a while and the feet have been looking better every time. The horse was being worked 5-6 days a week and was going great, I guess he had a history of off and on lameness. This whole time he was bare foot. About 8 weeks ago now, after being worked HARD he took a funny step (semi-tripped) and has been off on the foot he caught himself on, the RF.
What we know-
-His x-rays are clean (nav. and p3)
-He blocks out to his foot
-No reaction to hoof testers excpet a slight reaction on the medial heel (nothing when the heels are squezed together or over the frog)
-Lame for 8 weeks now but has gone from about a 1 to a 3 on any given day without much of a pattern.
-Put shoes with pads on and nothing changed
-Pulled shoes and nothing changed
Please let me know waht you guys think!
Thanks,
Tony
Pictures were taken today, about 3 weeks from his last trim and the chunk missing on the medial side is from the nail holes on the shoes!
