Ok me again the mini freak... I added a bunch of photos of my horses comformation in my albums ..."comformation"... could you all have a look and give me some thoughts... and possibly some ideas on how to go about training to strengthen the top line and hind end?? she is 2 1/2 and possible misdiganosed UPF ... she is walking on flat surface on gravel shots and downhill on pasture shots , towards wall is a slight uphill movement.
thank you thank you.....this is in the round pen ... her trot seems to be fine IMO

What I see here is a horse that appears in almost all shots from the rear to be placing the right leg under its body and the left to the outside. If this is true, it should also show in the wear patterns of the hoof. The left should be low medially and flared laterally and the right should be low laterally and flared medially. Your hoof pictures no longer seem to be in your other thread, but I seem to recall at least one pair of feet like this.

This could be from the right side being naturally stronger, it could be from a soreness in the left, it could be from different leg lengths (right is shorter), etc. As a start you might stand her on a level surface and see if you can visually see a difference in the legs. Years ago one of my clients had an english pleasure horse like this. The judges were just not quite pleased with her movement. A little extra length on the short leg - pad at first, just a longer trim on that leg later - and she went over a year in the ribbons at every show

well thats good news.. I have found a good trainer in jumping , she will have a look in a few weeks and we will decide together what to do about this..I was hoping this was due to her being confined to a box stall for the first year of her life. The judge was happy with her over all , or she was being nice. I cant just toss her aside and buy a different horse for showing , I would like to first see how she is at her full potential... with development , and muscle tone. Will have a look at the legs again to look for different lengths .As far as the bottom of her hoof , everything is pretty much even , but I can snap a photo and post it in my album under Pearls hoof. Wouldnt you think the vet would figure this out though... what do you think about the Slight UPF diagnosis ? thanks

It could be the stall -- they can get very one sided alone in a stall, always going around or turning the same way. Playing in the open, especially with companiopns tends to more even developement. A massage therapist might help also.

I may be nuts, but slight UPF sounds like a little bit pregnant to me -- they have it or they don't.

I believe his exact word was "mild" and no need to operate at this time...When I read about UPF the symptoms are stiff legs, locking patella , dragging of the hind leg until it pops back into place... we dont have any of those symptoms, and I watch her knee move as she moves... no physical sign of the knee slipping, sticking, jaring , or causing pain... Yea , I would also think she does or she doesnt ... (1 line or 2 ) but I dont like to tell more qualified people like the vet that they are wrong. I also called and wrote him an e-mail asking for a follow up on what type of exercise i can do for her to strengthen her hind end and top line... and possible re exam in 6 months ....no answer, its been 2 weeks. very frustrating. ( I have paid my bill from last appointment ) Now that I think about it ... I paid 95 CHF for his visit , I was not there , and I just got an SMS on my phone from him . I didnt get a writen diagnosis. Hmmm....anyway , thanks for the imput.
