If that is the bicycle seat and spring loaded leg that straps to you, I've seen it, the guy who made them gave a demonstration at a clinic some 12 years ago.
If the horse was quiet and you are not in a hurry I guess it would be fine, I can't imagine walking back to the truck or anvil with that thing strapped to my arse.
Hope it works for you,
Guy

Michael, when I began shoeing 25 years ago I apprenticed with a blacksmith who did anything possible to make his job easier. He began with a pole and a bike seat. After I took over the horse end of the business, I continued the practice of using a seat for working on the back feet. I found the perfect seat which is called a flip-stick. I found it in a garden/orvis store in Kentucky while attending a farriers convention. It is simple, light weight, the seat folds flat for storage, and it will just drop out of the way if you have a problem with a horse acting up. It keeps me stable and therefore keeps the horse calmer. I do not do a horse without it. It works especially well with young foals for the first time because again you are not constantly adjusting yourself which in turn causes them to move. The seat that attaches to you with straps seems a bit much. As farriers we do tend to move around a bit and having a tail flapping around after you, seems a littly annoying. Just google "Flip-stick", to see who carries them. I think they are up to $50 now. I have 4 of them just in case I leave one or I give one to a deserving fellow farrier. I have not had a sore back (knock on wood), my whole career and I do attribute it partly to the stool.

Thanks for that Buddy i will have a look,im getting on ok with the back jack so far as long as they want to stand still,on the back feet it is super,i could spend all day holding those feet up,but if they start to mess around i am soon standing up again.I seem to be getting round ok when wearing it so far,i work out of a trailer with a ramp and i have not got stuck with it yet,but you are aware of how you walk when wearing it.I have got a busy day doing Reiners tomorrow so i will see how i get on .:)
