I am very concerned for my friends gelding, he is loosing weight and condition very fast.
The only thing that has changed this year is different type of snow pad, is hard plastic/rubber instead of silicone.
Jan 15..front leg abcess, swelling up to knee, drains above heel and all is well.
Two weeks later back leg on same side, fever, very lame and abcess is deep, antibiotic is now finished , fever off and on and swelling front of leg all the way to hock,
Horse is not eating, going back to the vet again next Monday, x-rays are clean.
My friend has never had foot problems before and is worried.
