Hi there
I am now 2 weeks into the treatment of a hoof abcess on my horse Morgan. The abcess has drained well and all seems to be going smoothly thus far, however, the rains have started to set in and do not have a proper stable to keep him in. In order to try and keep his hoof dry I have roped off a shelter for him just off the shearing shed but he is stressing in there and doesn't want to drink. I want to let him back out into the paddock where he feels more secure but the hole is still open under the hoof and I am unsure about leaving it uncovered for fear of it getting infected again. Is there anything that I can use/do to plug the hole so he can go back out to where he is much happier horse? Eagerly awaiting your reply.
