I'm confused about which is which. My horses are perfectly clean all around their frog, where I always thought thrush lived, but lately the farrier says they have a bit of thrush and points to a black, somewhat soft area, at the wall under where the shoes have been. Now I read on this board about white line disease which I thought was a serious long-term problem, and I wouder what I should do next. How do you treat something that is covered with a shoe? The horses are on grass with lots of rain for past three months,one is shod, one is not.What is the difference between thrush and whoite line ? is it the same bacteria just in different places so there is a different name?
