Hi,
Yesterday I was getting my mare shod, and when the farrier removed her shoe and pad and began cutting out the frog and sole, the frog basically desinigrated and started to bleed. The vet happened to be in the area so she stopped by and we cleaned the wound and bandaged. Now my mare is on antibiotics for 5 days and I have to replace the banage daily. Does this normally happen when horses wear pads and how long does in take for the frog to grow back?
