My 25 year old QH/Clydesdale cross has suddenly become lame in his RT front foot. It has been extremmely wet and muddy here so I am worried about possible thrush. Since he has never had any hoof problems I am not sure what to look for. His frog seems soft but he also has really soft coronary bands and also a V shaped raised area maybe a crack on the front of his hoof. He limps on it and holds the foot up some. I have not smelled any foul odor and the hoof does not feel hot nor does the leg look swollen.
