: A couple of months ago I moved to a new location with my horse. I had an excellent, well respected farrier come out for a routine trim. He told me that my horse had fungus in his hooves, and that I could try to treat it, but it really didn't matter. I've never been told by any other farriers that my horse's hooves had fungus. Unfotunately, this farrier has a hard time finding time to travel and trim my one horse, so I've had to find a less qualified farrier to do the job and now I can't ask the first farrier how to treat the fungus problem.

: What can I do to help get rid of this "fungus" in my horse's hooves.

: Thanks for the help!

Jessica it starts with good hoof care on your part. Using a hoofpick as often as possible, mucking stalls and keeping turnout areas free from flooding and loblollies. Kopertox ,ThrushBuster, ThrushXXX what ever -iodine but if you keep their feet clean then you kill the fungis! Good Luck! Gary
