I own a standardbred racehorse that has warts, or what looks like warts, on the upper side of his heel just at the joint. He is very tender on it and tonight the warts cracked and bled leaving him extremely sore.
When we got the horse he was found to be anemic and his back rump muscles seemed less developed. We have been thinking that the anemic condition, poor back rump muscle development and warts may be somehow symptoms of something else, such as parasitical in nature.
Any suggestions?
