I have a 3 year old Quarter Horse gelding. I just brought him home from the trainer the end of Sept. he was fine. Two weeks later he lost one of his front shoes I called a blacksmith out and he reset him. The next day he was lame on the left front I gave it a few days and he didn't get better. The blacksmith came back out and reset him he said that he had a nail that was hurting him. A week later he was still lame. I called the vet and she removed the shoe and found that he was sore at the heal area. She told me to soke his hoof in ebson salts andpack his hoof with poltus twice a day. At the end of the week a abcess broke through at his hair line at the heal of his foot. For the next 2 days wrapped him and used icthmal on him now at 3 days later he is still lame. I am not sure what is going on with him. Has anyone ever had this problem??
