: : Horse was trimmed 10 days ago and has developed stiff forlegs like laminitis but the ring directly above the hoof is now swollen. I do not know what this is nor how to treat it. Does anyone out there?

: Call your veterinarian immediately. If it looks like laminitis, treat it as such until proven otherwise.

: Keep this horse quiet in a very deeply bedded stall until your veterinarian canget there. This is an emergency.

While you are waiting for your vet, go to www.hopeforsoundness.com.. Download, read and implement "The Styrofoam Protocol". Do this soonest. It may well be the difference between a minor episode and a major problem.
