My horse constantly throws his shoes, I can never keep him on a regular schedule because he throws his shoes so often. He is an Appaloosa with white feet. I don't know if this has anything to do with his hoof problems because I have been told both ways. I have also been told that he has abscesses inside his hooves and it was because somewhere along in his life he had shots in his legs. It has been suggested that I take his shoes off in the winter, but everytime he throws a shoe, his foot just about crumbles to pieces so I am very weary about doing so. I don't know what to do to help him. He is on suppliments, and I have had problems with his feet for the last 3 years, (every since I have owned him). I am not sure what to do. I have tried everything from not letting him outside for a long period of time and changing him to egg bars. Please help me.
