: What are the ranges on the angles for the front and back feet of a walking horse? Any suggestions on correcting a forging problem. When my horse is just walking in the pasture, he clicks. When in his gait, he does not click. Any suggestions on correcting this problem?
Angles are not the issue, breakover is. You will need to balance between the weight of the shoe (heavier slows breakover) and the set of the breakover at the toe (further back enhances breakover) to get that "happy medium" where the horse gaits comfortably for you and does not interfere when relaxed and moving heavy on the forehand.
