I have a 10yo TB x QH who has lost it's front left shoe in a week and 5 days. He over reaches a little at the walk but his other paces are fine. I have watched him in the paddock and he doesn't over reach or bolt around the paddock, he's very sensible. he only has one toe clip on all four shoes. I ride him a lot in the menage and on the roads and i stay out of mud and keep on the track so I dont think they are getting sucked of from mud. He always wears bell boots when i ride.
