Fetlock bruise from interference...

Hello, I have a base narrow morgan cross gelding who interferes on his right fore. He doesn't paddle inwards or anything, but manages to wear the hair off the coronary band and then moves very close to the right fetlock. He is in a large paddock 24/7, and does frequently race around. (he is normally a dressage/event horse). Two weeks ago he came up very lame, heat and swelling on the right fore, swollen tendons, tender on the fetlock. It didn't appear to be a torsion injury, but I believe a blunt "whomp" with his other foot when he was bombing around. Whereas I don't think shoeing is going to overcome his narrow stance, I am curious about fetlock rings or perhaps a light leather w/ sheepskin ankle boot that I could leave on him when he is turned out. While I'm not keen on booting up a horse (and the problems it might cause-rubbing?)...this has been over two weeks, and it cost us a big competition-plus I am sure that he WILL do it again in time...Thoughts???I appreciate any ideas, and your time. Thank you, aimee
