I am tring to find the name of this tie-down/lead rope thing that someone showed me. A blacksmith had sold this to my farrier a few years ago(over 7) and it may be much older then that.
OK here is the description. All rope nothing else, monkey's fist on one end ,8 feet then a moneky's fist(smaller then the first one)on one half and a handle(braided from the rope) on the other half. The handle is approx 7 inches and the monkey's fist on that end is also approx 7 inches. Now this is used to tie the horse while working with his/her feet by sliding the handle threw the halter then sliding the monkey's fist threw the handle. The other end is tie to a hitching post or tree or whatever using whatever kind of knot you want. I think the monkey's fist on the bottom end is just for throwing around the tree etc.
Thx Lonnie
