: any ideas besides hobbles on how to break a horse from this nasty, destructive habit...??? not only damaging to physical things around him but it is not good for the health of this horses legs/ hoof / shoes...

: i have a young horse that will either stall kick (wall paw) or will literally paw a hole in the rubber floor mats in my trailer...

: he is out 24 / 7 in the summer/ spring / fall, but i do bring him in the winter to have an evening out of the mud... his diet is grassy/alfalfa hay three times a day, + his mineral supplements and FF..

: thanks as always

There something going on in his head, maybe he is bored and has to much energy, maybe it is anxiety being in stall or trailer. Is he the only horse? Maybe he needs a friend, maybe calm music playing will calm his nerves. Horses do not like to be closed in, alone, nothing to chew on etc... if you try to figure out which of these things are bothering him then you may be able to fix it.

Phil
