asking for a friend at the stable im at- her mare has had a shoe replaced after it fell off but the sole of the front left doesnt reach down to the shoe since it has broken off some. its about 3/8" at the widest part away from the shoe and about 2 1/2" long. im thinking the farrier probally did the right thing to put the shoe on but the lady would like to know if she should leave the shoe on or take it off till the sole is available. the horse has foundered in the past. im not sure what kind of rotation but its been quite a while and showed rings previous to the occurence. thanks
