: I have a 10 year old pony that I bought and he is foundered. I have never had one with this problem and I don't know what to do for him. He is a real sweet pony and I want to try to help get him well. He was bought as a starter pony for my daughter. I had a ferrier come out and he trimed him up. His front feet were sore for a few days and now they are better. The ferrier said we would trim him again in 6 weeks. His is on bermuda grass and lots of water. I bought him a mineral block and he ate it in three days. I guess he hasn't been fed very well. Is there anything else I can do in the mean time? I need all the help I can get! Thanks!
He will do lots better if you put him in a dry lot and just give him hay instead of pasture with lust grass. Keep his feet trimmed regularly and he should improve. Don't let him get pig fat again and you should be able to control his problem. Good Luck! Gary
