Thanks V.much for replying. There has always been good hoof growth & my farrier does not take the sole away. Currently Oscar has nothing on his feet other than the steel NBS & he seems to get an increase in pulse leading to a laminitis attack about once a year at most. My farrier is trimming & resetting about once every 5-6 weeks, I'm sure my pony is wearing 41/2 inch shoes (he's 13.3hh). I just wondered whether he'd be better with one of the new type devices along with the NBS?? As before, any advice greatly appreciated.
