: My questions are. What is Vetec polyurethane support?

Vettec is a company that manufactures various polyurethane products for use with horse's hooves. They have a bulletin board in the "Products and Services" section of this site and can answer any questions about their product. The polyurethane support you refer to can be of two types, both of which are a "pour in" application. "Equibuild" is a fast set, firm(hard)pad material. "Equi-Pak" is a soft(firm) pad material. They come in two sizes 48cc and 180cc.

If you are not sure which one you need, Call Dr. Turner and get the specifics.

: My second question is this. I'm somewhat ambivelant about the farrier I have been using. Would it be unprofessional if I used another farrier that I know is very good.

Since you are ambivelant, why do you continue to use his services? You might want to consider discussing the situation your horse is in with him, and see if he even wants to tackle the problem. If not, you are off the hook and can seek help elsewhere. If he feels capable, and you don't want to look for a new farrier, then give him a chance. Otherwise, find a new farrier and make sure he/she has the requisite skills and knowledge to properly and fully care for your horse.

Rick
