HI:):) I am NOT a farrier!!:):):) I do think the right farrier and vet could help you though. She may not be sound or totally sound for hard work, but ya know she is so young, there are certainly things that could be done to help her future, even if it is just as a broodmare. I don't know what those things are, but keep asking around - maybe trying some sort of laminitis type shoeing and locking her in a stall for a while would help - I DO NOT KNOW AND DO NOT PROFESS TO - you need to ask a good vet and a good farrier and it may even be worth your while to haul to the right help - it does not sound that your "technical help" is as determined to help her as you. Maybe there is a race hospital near you?
I had a mare with 6 fractures in her knee and the vets asked me if I wanted to put her down. I immobilized her in a stall for 6 months and was very carefull with the recovery over many years - as hard as that seems to do - and she has had 13 pasture/lesson horse/broodmare SOUND years since. Now, 13 years later, the arthritis seems to be setting in - but she is also 20 years old now and she has a handful of other wear and tear to deal with. This mare of yours is so young, it seems there has to be a way to help "set" the fracture??? And there are certainly ways to do it more harm...
Thanks, Linnie
