Hi:):) I am not a farrier:):):) But what the farrier on here said sounds right to me:):):) IF your horse went untrimmed a while he may have worn down his heels and his toe may have become excessively long. My understanding is this type of shoeing is really good for encouraging a healthy heel. *BUT* - you should ask your farrier and find out for yourself:):) They will do a better job and enjoy working with you more if you understand and appreciate their work:) Thanks, Linnie
