bought a year old mare. She was trained to race but never raced. I have a few questions, maybe someone can answer them for me. She was x-rayed and there is a fracture in her coffin bone, not large, and the farrier said that she has dropped. Her soles are only .25 inch think. Her feet do look bad (very low in heel, long in toe) but they look like what my other thoroughbreds feet looked like when I got him and now he is a jumper. Everyone says that my new mare will never jump or even be anything other than a trail horse. Can someone please help me, how do I fix her feet. (the fracture will take time, but is there hope for the rest of the problems.) My vet is used to quarter horses, not thoroughbreds could he have seen the x-rays wrong. Thoroughbred racers are know for their bad feet, but with care the can heel. Please help what do I do.
