: : I need help in finding out where to find the best information on self teaching on how to trim my horses hooves. Thankyou Les.
: Les, There is a miriad of books and videos that you can purchase from the business on this site. But I would seriously recommend finding a local farrier and riding with them when you can and get some first hand guidance. You may even want to consider enrolling in a two week shoeing course somewhere that will at least get you under horses and learning some anatomy and physiology. I'm all for owners that want to trim thier own but I hate when they call me and say I've been trimming my own and now it's lame can you come fix it. I show up once they watch intently and then try to emulate what I did only to call me back in 4 months to do it again. Get a good foundation with someone that knows and have at it.
: Good luck and have fun

Dave,
I agree with what you said, but I agreed to "house" 3 ponies not take care of them including feed, vet bills, etc. Including the monthly tasks to keep them healthy. Seeing how I wasn't prepared to pay for feed and everything else I cannot afford a farrier at this moment. I know their hooves need help, and I'm willing to do what-ever I can to help them out. Can you elaborate on what is the best book/ video so I don't spend hours and dollars (like on website's) for books and video's that won't help me?
Thanks
Joe
