I have a 13 year old Tb due to foal in April. She is on daily wormer and HB 15 biotin (2 scoops). It has been very cold here in MN for the last week or so (highs around -20) She is pasture kept with a run in. I noticed today that her frogs are dark red or black. She is not lame. Is this normal for this time of year? I have not noticed this in the past, but this has been a very cold winter. She is in excellant health and is current on farrier and vet. Any information on hooves and winter would be helpfull.
