Recently we purchased two quarter horses. We put a deposit down on them and had a week to return them if their was any problems. So, we had the lady that gives me horse lessons come and check them out. She was concerned with one of their hooves. It has a big crack in it from the top (doesn't go past the hoof top)and goes about 1.5-2 inches down. We lunged him and he bobs his head a bit and the lady said that means a sign of discomfort. Every once in a while while trotting, he limps a bit. She said it probably will not grow out and may present future problems. When you first look at the foot it looks like she has a cow foot. I need some advice. Is she safe to ride? Will it ever grow out? Or should we just return him and keep on looking? (by the way we are looking to buy a horse someone from the southern ohio area!!)
