: : I have a horse that is out in field, they receave hay in winter. Horse has had cracks since I got her 4 year's ago. Farrier comes every 6 weeks. field is very wet at times. They don't get worked that much so they don't receave to grain. The horse gain's weight very easy. I need to know what I can use on her hooves to help with the crack's

: It's very important that when your farrier trims your horses feet that they are dressed correctly!I mean that they are taken forward and any flares or dish to the hoof wall is addressed. Rounding the wall at the ground surface also helps to stop cracks and splits. The hoofs must be balanced at every trim or your just spinning your wheels! Good Luck! Gary

Just curious, what do you mean by "they are taken forward"?? in your post.
