: : Mr. Burten, all I get out of you is name calling so I think you in particular are a waste of my time.
: Well, were you cogent enough to be able to read for content in context, you might be able to take more away from the discussion than you are. Regardless, it is never a waste of time for me to expose the TBs and their franchise for what they and it are.
: :If you can direct me to any info that proves Dr. Strasser is wrong than please let me know.
: Conversely, we(I) have repeatedly asked to be directed to any information that proves F. Strasser correct.
: Even the diagrams and drawings she uses(especially those that attempt to compare the human bipedal anatomy and stance and locomotion with that of the equine) are incorrect. Her entire paradigm is wrong. Were you not wearing rose colored glasses, you would by now, have seen this. Ask yourself this: Why is it that not one respected, reputable , anatomist, physiologist, biomechanical engineer, from either within or without the equine community has come forward to speak infavor of F. Strasser's trim protocol. Why is it that so many who first followed F. Strasser including several who became certified trimmers, now not only renounce the protocol, but actively speak and campaign against it?
: Repeatedly, here on these boards, in the archives, and elsewhere along the internet, the issue has been explored and references, studies, anecdotal evidence etal., have been presented that stand in direct opposition to that which strasser preaches and her acolytes zealously undertake and defend.
: Other than strasser, who has found the "harmonic curve"?
: The ground parallel coffin bone idea has come and gone more times than you are old. Yet it never lasts as a fundamental. It is a fad and sadly, you are now caught up in it.Broken back pastern axis, demonstrably a bad thing.
: Thirty degree hair lines, a fad. Opening cuts?, been around since Og picked up a sharpened stone and started trying to trim feet. Strasser's protocol? A conglomeration of ideas and practices developed through time within the farrier community. Said ideas and practices found to be incorrect and discarded by all but the most inept and uneducated. The only original thought Strasser has apparently had is with regard to the phantom harmonic curve, which concept only came about after she came under fire for her constant implementation of a broken back pastern axis. Self serving to say the least. She has based her protocol on faulty information and junk science. Using one Bracey Clark as a main reference for her work, only shows how truely inept she really is. His "experiment" was so contrived and without either controls or merit as to be laughable. Were you well versed in understanding how research is conducted you would, after reading how he did what he did, know that. Strasser's claim that there is no pathology that she cannot resolve with her protocol should have sent warning flags high up your flagpole. that it did not, begs the question, why?
:
: :So far my own past and present experiences have proven the truth behind Dr. Strassers work.
: Thus speaketh a neophyte True Believer, able to find truth where none exists. And, just what present experience do you have? You haven't been under enough horses and trimmed enough feet yet. Your knowledge base is in its infancy. You again confirm your affliction with the Arrogance of Ignorance Syndrome.
: : I have gone your way before and lost a beautiful 16yr old mare to founder.
: You don't have a clue as to what my way might be. That you failed to provide proper stewardship for the animal in your care reflects on you and your lack of capability. And I'll bet its a doozy of a story about why that mare foundered in the first place, and how you dealt with it after it occurred. Do us all a favor and do you penitence somewhere else and preferably on an inanimate object.
: :She had what I now realize were healthy round feet at 4 when I bought her.
: So you screwed up and it cost you your horse. Way to go. Seems like until you got ahold of this horse she was doing just fine. And, I'll bet she wasn't being subjected to a strasser trim at that time. Just what kind of hoof care and general maintenence was she getting prior to your bumbling efforts?
: You go ahead and continue to use your medieval technology, good luck.
: Its not me who is following or advocating techniques and approaches from the Middle Ages . You won't find me applying a torture protocol that would make Torquemada or the Marquis de Sade proud. You wont catch me buying into the "my way or the highway" approach to hoofcare(which in case you missed it is exactly what you strasserites undertake). Strasser and her cult are guilty of the highest form of sophistry. You(the cult) prey on the desperate like vultures on carrion. You are an anathema in the hoofcare community.

I trusted my vets and farriers all those years. That is why I lost my horse. She was cared for very well. It was the SHOES. As far as I can tell you are totally threatened by the current trend of things, otherwise we would not bother you so much and you wouldn't need to resort to name calling.
