: I'v been shoeing with steel toed boot's for 12 yrs. now. But i don't they do the greatest job of protecting your feet from injury. My toe's are fine but my feet are still not protected well. When it come's time to shoe some Horse's that insist on moving around alot they alway's seem to get my uper foot. Is there any type of special boot out there that could help my feet feel better? Maybe some sort of metetarsal covrage. Any advise?

I just bought a pair of Redwing boots with steel toes and metatarsal protectors. They are very comfortable(although a little heavy at first) but you get use to them. I have had a foot surgery to remove a bone spur and nerve ganglia from the top of my foot caused by to many accidental hoof contacts. After a couple of weeks I realized that I had been stepped on a few time and hadn't even noticed. I won't work on a horse without them ever again. They may seem a little pricey at $214.00, but the surgery and time off cost me a lot more. Ben
