Donīt do any other work than whatīs included in your line of work i.e. trimming and shoeing. If the horse owner hasnīt trained the horse properly, he should either do that or get some kind of trainer to do it. In the beginning of my career as a farrier i took on difficult horses. I was (I know that now) stupid enough to be a little proud of my reputation of being able to shoe impossible horses. Now I know that my fellow farriers had kindly left these horses for some other dumb bastard to shoe...me. So dont do it. You only risk getting more and more of these horses and finally you end up with an injured back and then you will not get any help from these horse owners
