: Anne, horses that are always on wet soft ground will have wet soft feet and may even develop infections in sensitive tissue which lead to abcesses, the pressure from the abscesses cause pain. I recommend a wide web shoe that is well seated out on the foot side and use leather pads with medicated pine tar and oakum. Reshoe them every six weeks there feet will be much healthier and able to stand up to hard ground. Try it, I think alot of the horses in your care will be sound and your customers will be happy. In alot of cases this method will improve the hoof, sole and frog quality and they may be able to go barefoot once there feet are better.

Phil
Under the contract that a Strasserite signs when taking the correspondence course, and now I quote:
"Certification of a Hoofcare Specialist may be revoked at any time if the individual deviates in his/her hoofcare practices from the principles and methods developed by Dr. Hiltrud Strasser, or for any other reasonable cause(including but not limited to dishonest behavior, substance abuse, etc). (the following is my emphasis)CERTIFICATION IS REVOKED IMMEDIATELY IF THE INDIVIDUAL SHOES A CLIENT'S HORSE(S), OR SHOES/HAS SHOD HIS/HER OWN HORSE(S)."
So you see Phil, the acolytes are limited to only that which their leader prescribes. IOW, they are franchisees. Just like Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell and now, Le Strasser. Deviate from the contract and the Strasser Contract Police Department swoops down and removes your certs. All $9000.00+ of them. I wonder if they try to confiscate the perps copy of the vaunted(or is that vacous)big blue book.
As Anne points out, the minions(lemmings?) return yearly to drink from only the well and font of knowledge as dispersed to them by their leader.
And now we know the rest of the story. Or, is there more still to come? I'm sure we will soon find out.
